Increase the Automatic Connection Tolerance

  1. In the Setup Development > Connections tab, in the Automatic connections data grid, click the Automatic Connection Options icon.
  2. The Automatic Connections form appears.

  3. In the Tolerance field, type the new tolerance value or drag the slider at the right of the field.
  4. Notes:

    • The tolerance value must be between 0 and 10. The units of the tolerance are the units of the centreline design.
    • Increasing the tolerance means that headings that are a further distance apart are treated as connected. The changed value is immediately updated in the 3D Canvas so you can see the changes made to the connections in the design.

Tip: It is important that the tolerance value is high enough that all secondary headings are captured and no incorrect start points occur in the design, but low enough that only headings that are meant to be connected become connected. If you find that the tolerance value that corrects for inaccurate start points causes headings that should not be connected to connect, you can choose a lower tolerance value and manually connect the unconnected secondary headings.

  5. Click Close.
  6. The new connection tolerance is applied to the design.
